BIGGBY® COFFEE OPENS LOCATION IN GEORGETOWN, OFFERING AN UNINTIMIDATING, FUN AND ENERGETIC ATMOSPHERE FOR COFFEE LOVERS TO ENJOY

East Lansing, MI, July 12, 2019–BIGGBY® COFFEE is excited to announce the opening of a new location in Georgetown, Kentucky. The location advances the company’s mission to expand its brand while providing premier service to customers while creating unique experiences through an unintimidating atmosphere, energetic baristas, and an inclusive community. With the addition of the Georgetown location, BIGGBY® COFFEE, known as the friendly coffee community, now has five stores in Kentucky, and 194 more in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Florida.

This BIGGBY® COFFEE marks four locations for owner Carrie Cousins. With three locations in Michigan, Cousins who is also head of franchise development for Central Kentucky for BIGGBY® COFFEE, is committed to bringing the BIGGBY® COFFEE experience to Kentucky. The new café is located at 126 Amerson Way near McClelland Circle and will employ approximately 16 local residents. Located in front of Lemons Mill Elementary school, this new location is off the 460 Bypass and is in a very convenient spot for anyone that wants to grab a cup of coffee to go or would like to sit and stay!

“As an owner of other BIGGBY® COFFEE locations, I’m thrilled to open a location where I was raised,” said Cousins. “We are looking forward to making our customers feel like they are at home while they enjoy beverages that make them happy. I’ve always been involved in the community, but we are extremely excited about being able to expand our efforts to continue to build the community.”
Cousins moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan in 2011, when her husband got a job with a local University as a history professor and fell in love with BIGGBY® COFFEE after experiencing the friendly atmosphere, engaging baristas, and the world’s best coffee. She became a “fanatic”—what BIGGBY® COFFEE calls their regular customers—and made BIGGBY® COFFEE a part of her everyday life. After drinking BIGGBY® coffee for over a year, she learned of the possibility of becoming a franchisee, opened her first BIGGBY® COFFEE in July of 2014 in Schoolcraft, Mich., and never looked back!

“BIGGBY® Nation is proud to become an active participant in this great community,” said Tony DiPietro, director of franchise sales at BIGGBY® COFFEE. “We are excited to add this new location and work with Carrie to be part of the great city of Georgetown. Once you visit a BIGGBY® COFFEE, you will see that it is a very unique experience and we are looking to build relationships with everybody who visits.” For more information about BIGGBY® COFFEE, store locations and special offers, visit biggby.com or follow on social media.

BIGGBY® COFFEE, East Lansing, Mich.-based, was started with a single store on March 15, 1995. One year later, and on the cusp of opening a second location, Bob Fish and Michael McFall, on a handshake and $4,000, decided to franchise the concept. BIGGBY® COFFEE’s cultural values of Make Friends, Have Fun, B Yourself, and Share Great Coffee help coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike benefit from a less pretentious and fun approach to the standard gourmet cafe paradigm. Besides connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear® and Caramel Marvel®, BIGGBY® baristas provide a unique experience focused on brightening their customers’ day and supporting them in building a life they love. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY® COFFEE has more than 230 cafes across 9 states and counting including Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Florida, and Texas. In 2018, BIGGBY® launched an Area Representative Program and currently has 8 Area Representatives in 6 states.
