Dear BIGGBY® Nation,

 

At BIGGBY® COFFEE we exist to love people – our communities and customers, our owner/operators and baristas, our vendor partners and each other. As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact our world, please know health and safety is our number one priority.

 

Rest assured that all BIGGBY® COFFEE locations are properly trained in, and follow, Food Safety Laws required by the Health Department. These laws consist of but are not limited to, proper hand washing techniques, (World Health Organization: Hand Hygiene) proper use of disposable gloves or bakery tissue when handling food and continuous cleaning and sanitizing of the store.

 

Our systems and processes have propelled us to always serve our customers delicious coffee and keep each of our baristas, shift leaders, managers and owner/operators healthy.  During this time of uncertainty, you may have noticed that we’ve introduced additional protocols to our franchises to ensure that our stores remain clean and healthy environments.

 

  • To help prevent the spread of germs, brewed coffee will no longer be self-serve and will be prepared by the baristas. If you need any items for your drinks, please ask the baristas and they will help you.
  • For the time being, we will be suspending the preparation of beverages in personal mugs as well as providing refills in single serve cups.
  • There could be limited area for seating in stores. Tables and chairs in our lobbies are being moved to the recommended distance of 6ft apart.
  • In addition to our usual sanitation process, we are increasing the number of times and areas that are being sanitized.
  • Any staff member who is feeling sick or showing signs of being sick will be instructed to stay home.

 

Please note that depending on the franchise’s local community, owner/operators may implement additional preventative measures should they see it fit for the safety of their staff and customers. As a company we will continue to follow the guidelines given by the CDC and the World Health Organization.

 

During a disruption such as this, always consider your local BIGGBY as your friendly coffee community. BIGGBY COFFEE is very fortunate to have the best owner/operators and we want to personally thank them for their calm professionalism and quick action. In addition, we also want to personally thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. We care about keeping everyone healthy, happy and caffeinated—while although your store experience may be a little different, know you’re in good clean hands.
