Michigan native and former NHL hockey player opens store on Jan. 22

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., Jan. 7, 2013 – The year is starting with a bang in Traverse City as Michigan-based BIGGBY COFFEE returns to the city and celebrates its grand opening on Tuesday, Jan. 22! After more than a three year hiatus in Traverse City, BIGGBY is returning right where it left off at 1535 South Division St., and will bring back the world’s best coffee and the happiness that goes along with it!

New store franchisee, Kip Miller, said he knew BIGGBY has been missed in the area and wanted to be the one to bring it back. “Traverse City is a great place, and I knew BIGGBY was needed back here,” he said. “I’ve gotten a great response from the community already, and have heard residents talking about how excited they are to have BIGGBY back.”

Miller, a Michigan native, said he has watched BIGGBY develop and expand over the years. After a successful college hockey career at Michigan State University, he played a total of 12 seasons in the National Hockey League, and from his travels, said he has yet to experience a coffee concept quite like BIGGBY.”

“BIGGBY sets itself apart from other coffee chains because it’s more than just a place with great coffee. BIGGBY is about the experience and great customer service, which you’re not going to find elsewhere. People want a coffee shop to call their own, and they will be able to do that at my store.”
