BIGGBY® COFFEE EXPANDS THE GREATER LANSING FAMILY

BIGGBY® COFFEE EXPANDS THE GREATER LANSING FAMILY by opening a new store in Delta Township, MI, on the corner of Creyts and St. Joe.

EAST LANSING, MI, 3/4/2015 – The Greater Lansing BIGGBY® family is expanding with its newest location in Delta Township, opened on March 3, 2015. Located on the corner of Creyts and St. Joe, this is Mark and Paula Thompson’s third BIGGBY® store.

“The response to a BIGGBY going in at Creyts and St. Joe has been overwhelming” the Thompsons said. “Creyts and St Joe is a hidden corner of Lansing with so many outstanding businesses and neighborhoods; we are excited to meet all the great people who live and work in Delta Township!”

Both Mark and Paula Thompson actively work with different community organizations. Both are Veterans who severed in the Iraqi War and between them have 4 tours to the Middle East. One event they always participate in falls on Veteran's Day every year where they donate half the proceeds from their stores to a Veteran's Organization. The Wounded Warrior Project was 2014’s benefactor and Zero Day in Lansing was 2013’s. Over the last 7 years, between their two stores, they have donated around $7500 to organizations that help veterans.

Additionally when it comes time to celebrate their store’s birthdays, each store sponsors a child that shares its birthday. This is accomplished through Compassion International, a Christian child advocacy ministry, $1 from every mug sold supports that program. They also sponsor little league baseball teams, Big Brothers Big Sisters, YMCA, Jingle Bell Run, Lansing's West Side Home and Garden Tours, Dog Days of Summer and support the Ionia County Dolly Parton Imagination Library Fundraiser. With the opening of their new store the Thompsons “…love the opportunity that BIGGBY provides to be a part of the community inside and outside of their walls.” and “…are excited to see what Delta Township likes to do”.

If Mark and Paula had to recommend a drink to a new customer, using an idea from one of their baristas, “first you ask their favorite dessert - something with chocolate, caramel or fruit, then based on that answer I would recommend a German Chocolate Latte, Salted Caramel Latte or Frozen Strawberry Shortcake.” Stop by and help us welcome Mark and Paula’s BIGGBY® COFFEE to the Greater Lansing Family, they will be open Monday through Saturday 6:00 am to 9:00 pm and Sunday 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.

About BIGGBY® COFFEE East Lansing, Mich.-based BIGGBY® COFFEE was started with a single store on March 15, 1995. One year later, and on the cusp of opening a second location, Bob Fish and his business partner Michael McFall, on a handshake and $3,000, decided to franchise the concept. BIGGBY® COFFEE’s core values of B happy, have fun, make friends, love people and drink great coffee help coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike benefit from a less pretentious and fun approach to the standard gourmet café paradigm. Besides connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear and Caramel Marvel, BIGGBY® baristas provide a unique experience focused on brightening their customer’s day. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY® COFFEE has 240 cafes open or under contract across nine states including: Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Florida and Texas.
