First Area Café for Growing Michigan-based Franchise Concept

South Lyon, Mich., April XX, 2009 – It wasn’t long ago that BIGGBY COFFEE was a single gourmet coffee shop serving East Lansing with the area’s only genuine European café experience. Today, BIGGBY COFFEE has more than 100 stores in six states and its newest arrives in South Lyon on Tuesday, May 5.  The new café, located at 22729 Pontiac Trail, is owned and operated by local residents Vipen and Nishant Khetarpal.

The South Lyon location, adjacent to Millennium Middle School, will encourage the community to experience the BIGGBY COFFEE difference by offering free brewed coffee all week   In addition; the store will offer complimentary samplings of signature specialty drinks and decadent food offerings.

The Khetarpals are opening the new location as a father and son ownership team.  They are experienced restaurant franchise owners, yet this is their first BIGGBY COFFEE café.

“We’re opening a BIGGBY COFFEE franchise because it’s a thriving brand that shares the same principle beliefs we do as business owners” said Vipen Khetarpal.  “It’s all about the experience at BIGGBY.  Certainly, our coffee expertise plays a role in that; but it’s much more about impacting customers with something they might not expect.  I think South Lyon is going to really like what we do.”

The new South Lyon shop, offers a drive-through, flat screen television, soft seating, free Wi-Fi  and the company’s trademark coffee drinks, brewed coffees, teas and frozen beverages.
