NEW YEAR BRINGS BIGGBY COFFEE LOCATION TO ALBION, MI

Locally owned and operated stored set to open Jan. 8

ALBION, MICH. Dec. 17, 2012 – The city of Albion is ringing in the new year in a special way as the area readies for its first-ever BIGGBY COFFEE location! The store located at 217 E. Michigan Ave., will celebrate its grand opening on Tuesday, Jan. 8 by offering customers 99 cent tall Caramel Marvels (hot or iced), and other drink specials for the remainder of the week.

Locally owned and operated by Randy and Brandy Neelis, the store, which is about one block from Albion College, will not only appeal to the student population, but will be an all-around cozy and inviting place for everyone in the community.

“Albion is a great place and we are very excited to not only bring a new business here, but to have that new business be BIGGBY is even better,” Brandy said. “The area has needed a place like BIGGBY for a while, and now that we are getting closer to opening, everyone here is talking about it.”

Raised in Albion, Brandy said it is her and Randy’s passion for the community that originally attracted them to owning a BIGGBY franchise. “We were determined to do our part and bring business back to Albion” Brandy said. “While we were learning about BIGGBY, we realized how important community involvement is to the company, and the opportunities we would have as franchisees to give back are greater than with other concepts.”

Most customers will see Randy’s smiling face behind the counter as he will be working on the front lines in the store, while Brandy will do more of the behind the scenes duties.

“We make a great team and could not be more thrilled to open our doors and become the place to be in Albion,” Brandy said. “We have a great location and have known from the beginning that this is going to be a great addition to the community.”

About BIGGBY COFFEE®
East Lansing, Mich.-based BIGGBY® COFFEE opened a single store in March of 1995 based on the founding principle that coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike would benefit from a less pretentious approach to the standard gourmet café paradigm. BIGGBY COFFEE introduced connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear and Caramel Marvel, and barista staff surprised guests with simple gestures like free kazoos and bouncy balls for no other reason than to brighten their day. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY COFFEE has 163 cafes open or under contract across nine states including:  Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Florida, and Texas.  For more information, visit biggby.com.
