My two cents: Store openings and free coffee in Ann Arbor this week

Here's my two cents about a couple of store events in Ann Arbor this week:

Do you miss the Where’s Waldo books you used to read as a kid? Hours of searching and seeking the goofy guy in the striped hat and shirt. Do you also love a steamy latte, and love it even more when it is free? Then you are really going to love the Spot Bob event at Biggby Coffee this Thursday.

Biggby Bob is an avid blogger, tweeter, and facebooker, and also happens to be the owner of the Michigan based Biggby Coffee franchise. He visits area Biggby Coffee shops, and when he does the drinks are on him.

Stop by the Biggby Coffee located at 1741 Plymouth Road from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for your free drink and a chance to spot Bob.

The success of the Plymouth Rd Biggby Coffee has been so sweet, that owner/operator and Eastern Michigangraduate, Jeannine  Mickeleit, plans to open a second Biggby Coffee on Stadium Boulevard this spring. (This will make 4 Ann Arbor Biggby locations.)

It’s not quite gardening season yet, but the weekend’s thaw has me looking at my yard, and musing already. Musing is a nice word for what actually translates into:

“how many tulip bulbs have the squirrels gotten to?”

“will that bush ever come back to life?”

“wow, there’s going to be a lot of yard work to do in the spring.”

In the past I have been lucky enough to garner the help of Lisa Waud of Pot &Box. She makes gardening fun, and her beautiful bouquets available in Kerrytown are not just fresh, but refreshing. This spring, I will be able to call or visit her at her brand new headquarters at 220 Felch. Pot & Box just announced the store-to-come calling it a place for “fresh flowers, garden supplies, & fabulousness!” Can’t wait to check it out.
