BIGGBY^® COFFEE Applauds Distribution Partner’s Proactive Recall on Strawberries

East Lansing, MI, November 4, 2016 – On September 9th, a nationwide product hold was announced for Egyptian strawberries. Sysco Distribution, in an effort to go above and beyond to protect BIGGBY^® stores and customers, voluntarily chose to treat this as a recall. As such, the BIGGBY^® COFFEE Home Office instructed all of their stores to dispose of any strawberry product from Egypt. Stores were provided replacement product from the USA or Mexico.

An official nationwide recall was enacted for Egyptian strawberries on October 28th, 2016. At this point, BIGGBY^® stores hadn’t received any strawberries from Egypt for over 6 weeks, thanks to Sysco’s earlier proactive response. BIGGBY^® has been, and will continue to be, 100% cooperative with any and all government agencies on this matter as they have the best interest of their customer’s in mind.
