BIGGBY COFFEE CEO TO VISIT, BUY YOUR COFFEE IN PLAINWELL

“Spot Bob” Along with Local Fundraising Focuses on Engaging Community

PLAINWELL, MI., April 12, 2011 –BIGGBY COFFEE Plainwell, 1307 E. M-89, is spreading the BIGGBY love this month as they host the monthly “Spot Bob” on Thursday, April 14! BIGGBY COFFEE CEO and Co-Founder, Bob Fish, aka BIGGBY BOB, will be at the Plainwell store from 8-10am buying everyone their favorite drink on the menu! Go ahead and introduce yourself, tell Bob your favorite BIGGBY COFFEE story and “B” treated!

The giving continues as the store is also hosting a fundraiser supporting the Plainwell High School band through the end of April. One dollar from every full price Grande or Super specialty beverage purchased will be donated to the Plainwell Band program which will help pay for student’s travel expenses and other equipment needs.

“Being involved with our customers and giving back in their communities is simply just part of our core values at BIGGBY COFFEE,” Fish said. I love having the opportunity to interact with our customers on a personal level and support their communities through partnerships and fundraising.”

The popular “Spot Bob” campaign began in late 2008 when he hit the highways in the modern days Where’s Waldo promotion; visiting each café and buying everyone their beverage of choice. While the majority of BIGGBY COFFEE stores are within Michigan, there are locations in five other states including: Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, South Carolina and Texas. This venture along with focusing on local fundraising partnerships has evolved Fish’s behind the desk routine into a face-to-face connection with the simple idea that giving is getting at its forefront.

“I love visiting our franchises and connecting personally with our customers—it’s just fun,” Fish said. “I am able to hear what they enjoy about BIGGBY COFFEE, along with their suggestions and see first-hand our involvement in different communities.

“Partnering with BIGGBY COFFEE has been a great experience and we truly appreciate their willingness to help Plainwell schools,” Connie Garman, the Vice President of Plainwell Band Booster Club said. “They have made the fundraising process very easy for us and it’s a great community partnership we look forward to continuing.”

About BIGGBY COFFEE®
East Lansing, Mich.-based BIGGBY® COFFEE opened a single store in March of 1995 based on the founding principle that coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike would benefit from a less pretentious approach to the standard gourmet café paradigm. BIGGBY COFFEE introduced connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear and Caramel Marvel, and barista staff surprised guests with simple gestures like free kazoos and bouncy balls for no other reason than to brighten their day. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY COFFEE has 129 cafes open or under contract across six states including: Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, South Carolina, Wisconsin and Texas.  For more information, visit biggby.com.
