NEW FEATURE FILM HIGHLIGHTING BIGGBY COFFEE PREMIERS MAY 10

Less than two weeks remain before Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Conspiracy hits theaters!

EAST LANSING, Mich., May 1, 2012 (UPDATE) – Lights, camera, action! BIGGBY COFFEE is hitting the BIGG screen. The East Lansing based gourmet coffee retailer will appear in the feature film, Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Conspiracy, premiering Thursday, May 10 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The family-friendly, action adventure was filmed at 10 West Studios in Manistee, MI as well as on location in Manistee and Ludington. With scenic views of Lake Michigan’s shoreline and historical attractions including, the Ramsdell Theatre and White Pine Village, the movie profiles Mickey Matson, who is left a Petoskey stone engraved with a mysterious map by his grandfather, leading him on a danger-filled adventure.

“We are excited to be a part this movie, especially because it’s set in and filmed right in the backyard of BIGGBY COFFEE”, Bob Fish, CEO and co-founder said. “It’s an ideal situation when two local companies can work together and support our state’s economy and the local film industry.”

The project is written, produced and directed by Michigan natives and features West Michigan actor, Derek Brandon as Mickey Matson. The Michigan Film Office approved the movie for a film incentive in 2011 and since then, it has also been approve by the Dove Foundation for family viewing.

“The BIGGBY COFFEE brand is growing more every day with West Michigan being one of our strongest markets,” Fish said. “This film will only continue to support that growth and showcase the home state of BIGGBY and the opportunities Michigan provides.”

About BIGGBY COFFEE®
East Lansing, Mich.-based BIGGBY® COFFEE opened a single store in March of 1995 based on the founding principle that coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike would benefit from a less pretentious approach to the standard gourmet café paradigm. BIGGBY COFFEE introduced connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear and Caramel Marvel, and barista staff surprised guests with simple gestures like free kazoos and bouncy balls for no other reason than to brighten their day. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY COFFEE has 145 cafes open or under contract across six states including: Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, South Carolina, Florida, and Texas.  For more information, visit www.biggby.com.
