MULTIPLE BIGGBY STORES TO HOST MPR OPEN NEWSROOM EVENT
Michigan Public Radio will set up at select stores to gain customer feedback
EAST LANSING, MI, Sept. 6, 2012 – Customers at nine select BIGGBY stores throughout Michigan will have a chance to B heard by Michigan Public Radio officials on the things that matter most to them in their communities.
On Wednesday, Sept. 12 from 7:30-9:30 a.m., customers and community members can provide feedback directly to Michigan Radio on-air hosts, reporters and producers stationed at various BIGGBY stores throughout Michigan.
Known as an “open newsroom”, Michigan Public Radio’s goal is to meet their current and potential customers, and have one-on-one conversations with them to better understand what matters most in their communities in regards to the content on their programs.
Participating BIGGBY locations include: Ann Arbor (539 E. Liberty); Northville (20570 Haggerty Rd.); Birmingham (112 S. Old Woodward Ave.); Detroit (4501 Woodward Ave.); Fenton (235 N. Leroy St.); Lansing (115 W. Allegan St.); Kalamazoo (4560 W. Main St.); Grand Rapids (146 Monroe Center NW); and Jackson (1025 N. Wisner St.).
“As a business, we have always believed that giving is getting, and in the importance of our stores getting involved in their individual communities,” Bob Fish, BIGGBY CEO and co-founder said. “By teaming with MPR, we are creating a space for open dialog to happen, and when our communication improves so can our communities.”

About BIGGBY COFFEE®
East Lansing, Mich.-based BIGGBY® COFFEE opened a single store in March of 1995 based on the founding principle that coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike would benefit from a less pretentious approach to the standard gourmet café paradigm. BIGGBY COFFEE introduced connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear and Caramel Marvel, and barista staff surprised guests with simple gestures like free kazoos and bouncy balls for no other reason than to brighten their day. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY COFFEE has 157 cafes open or under contract across eight states including: Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Florida and Texas.
