BIGGBY® COFFEE TO ASSIST IN HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF EFFORTS

Give BIGG for Texas Event on September 15th to Raise Funds for Those in Need
East Lansing, MI, September 8, 2017- As the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey continue to be felt across Texas, many organizations and individuals continue to step up in assisting those in need. BIGGBY® COFFEE is proud to announce that they will also be contributing to the relief efforts through a one-day fundraiser and extended t-shirt sale. September 15th $1 from every specialty beverage sold at participating locations, will be given to the American Red Cross to support their disaster relief fund. T-shirts will also be available to purchase at select locations.
Meghan Atkinson, owner of BIGGBY® COFFEE locations in Clio and Flint, originally just wanted to find a way for her stores to donate funds or even coffee to shelters, however she soon realized that involving other locations, as well as the Home Office, could make an even bigger impact. “What started as a small idea turned into a collaboration of BIGG ideas and with combined efforts, our donations for Texas will be much more impactful” says Atkinson.
While BIGGBY® may be a Michigan based brand, they have strong ties to Texas, with three locations in the Lone Star State. With stores in Allen, Houston, and Spring, baristas & their loved ones felt the impact of the flooding and many were forced to evacuate. These evacuations left them along with the hundreds of thousands without shelter and nearly all of their belongings. Donations will continue to be key in rebuilding lives as cleanup efforts begin in the following weeks.
