Robert Roy MacGregor, the 17th century swashbuckling Scottish outlaw and folk hero, inspired the likes of Wordsworth, Sir Walter Scott and Hector Berlioz to enshrine his legend in works of art. But his true lasting fame began in 1894 in the form of a glorious cocktail thanks to a bartender at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in NYC. Sometimes called the Scotch Manhattan, the Rob Roy is a sophisticated drink that looks luscious in a martini glass.
