BIGGBY WESTLAND OFFERS FREE BREWED COFFEE TO FORD’S WAYNE ASSEMBLY PLANT WORKERS
Westland Coffee shop offers innovative boost to lead Ford brand back to greater reliability

EAST LANSING, MI., October 26, 2011 –Mo Elfakir, Biggby Coffee owner in Westland, Mich., wants to help Ford Motor Company, the world class automaker, regain its quality reputation after slipping dramatically in the recent and prestigious Consumer Report’s magazine rankings.

“I have a number of excellent customers who are from the Ford facility right down the road and I know they take pride in their job and craftsmanship,” Elfakir said. “They are avid coffee drinkers and I want to do my part in the community by offering any worker from the Wayne Plant, engaged in any shift, free coffee at our store (37644 Ford Rd.) during normal business hours for the next thirty days.”

Elfakir’s store is located only 3.5 miles from the Ford Wayne Assembly Plant, where a number of vehicles are produced including the Ford Focus.

“BIGGBY COFFEE has continually held true to a company core value of giving back in communities,” Elfakir said. “Because coffee has been shown to help revitalize energy, increase alertness and concentration; I believe that giving our assembly workers an uplift from our java, we can help improve their energy and performance,” Elfakir added.

“The Wayne Assembly Plant is one of the world’s largest manufacturing facilities and we need to be positive and proactive regarding this global powerhouse, their hard working staff and quality products. The Ford image is iconic and our commitment is to do our part to help preserve and elevate it.”

About BIGGBY COFFEE®
East Lansing, Mich.-based BIGGBY® COFFEE opened a single store in March of 1995 based on the founding principle that coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike would benefit from a less pretentious approach to the standard gourmet café paradigm. BIGGBY COFFEE introduced connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear and Caramel Marvel, and barista staff surprises guests with simple gestures like free kazoos and bouncy balls for no other reason than to brighten their day. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY COFFEE has 137 cafes open or under contract across seven states including Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, South Carolina, Wisconsin and Texas.  For more information, visit www.biggby.com.
