BIGGBY® COFFEE Opens New Location in Michigan City on November 19th
East Lansing, MI, November 15, 2018– BIGGBY® COFFEE is ecstatic to announce the opening of a location in Michigan City, Indiana! This BIGGBY® will be opening its doors on November 19th and is located on the corner of Franklin and Chestnut, at 3401 Franklin St. Tara Walston and Matt Lemmer are the Owners/Operators and are really looking forward to meeting the community they’ll be serving. “Our BIGGBY® offers the convenience of a drive-thru, as well as a cool new space to study with friends or meet with clients,” explained Matt. The Michigan City BIGGBY® will be the first store modelled in the new design, Jakarta. This fresh design includes new seating options, flooring, and color palette. The Michigan City Owner/Operators are incredibly excited about developing relationships with their customers and partnering with them to strengthen the community. “We love partnering with non-profits, schools, small groups, and even families experiencing tough situations. We are always inspired when a community comes together to make special things happen for special people,” shared Matt.
Matt and Tara felt an immediate connection to the location of their future BIGGBY®. “When we chose this old beat up garage, we fell in love with the vision of what could be!” said Tara. The Michigan City Owner/Operators believe it’s important to truly be a part of the community they will be serving. “While most retailers are building new construction out by the highway, we wanted to be in the heartbeat of the community while helping revitalize and repurpose a great business district. Why let a building sit empty when we can breathe new life into an area that our customers live in and drive by every day?” explained Tara.
Stop in on November 19th to celebrate the opening of BIGGBY® COFFEE in Michigan City with Tara, Matt and their team! This BIGGBY® is open Monday-Saturday 6AM-9PM and Sunday from 7AM-9PM. If you’re new to BIGGBY® or are feeling adventurous, Matt recommends a Tan Line Latte. “Fresh and perfectly ground espresso, velvety-smooth steamed milk, with caramel and vanilla swirled in, and topped off with whipped cream and caramel garnish,” the owners explained. It doesn’t get better than that!

One year later, and on the cusp of opening a second location, Bob Fish and Michael McFall, on a handshake and $4,000, decided to franchise the concept.
