BIGGBY COFFEE CELEBRATES SUCCESS, HOSTS COMPANY-WIDE ANNUAL MEETING IN LANSING
More than 250 franchisees, operators and staff will be in Lansing for the three-day event beginning Aug. 21

EAST LANSING, Mich., July 24, 2012 – Seventeen years and 156 stores later, East Lansing-based BIGGBY COFFEE is bringing more than 250 franchise owners, operators and staff members together in the capital city for the company’s Annual Franchise Meeting. Held at the Lansing Convention Center and Paramount Coffee Company, the three-day event will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 21 and will be the largest in company history!

Currently experiencing 32 consecutive months of same store sales growth, with an average of 9.28%, BIGGBY, without a doubt, has a lot to celebrate. However, with several classes, presentations and workshops, the educational aspect of the meeting is not forgotten, for the sake of continued company-wide success.

“As always, I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with everyone that’s a part of the BIGGBY family at our franchise meeting,” Bob Fish, BIGGBY CEO and co-founder, said. “It gives me the perfect opportunity to recognize individual’s hard work and accomplishments, as well as a time to advance our system through education and fun.”

During the company awards portion of the event, one franchise location will be recognized with the “Favorite Store” award, nominated by customers earlier this summer. The winning location will embody the company’s core values of: B happy, have fun, make friends and love people, each and every day.

BIGGBY will also present the winner of the “Favorite Barista Award Todd Miles Award.” This award is given each year in memory of Miles, a BIGGBY barista, who always embodied the spirit and personality of BIGGBY. Since his passing, BIGGBY developed the award in his name to be given to the barista who most exemplifies his passion and spirit. Nine baristas have been nominated by customers to be in the running for the award.

The event is closed to the public, however, Fish and the rest of the BIGGBY crew, invites everyone to Troppo in Lansing at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22 for a toast to celebrate 17 years and counting of home-town business success.

About BIGGBY COFFEE®
East Lansing, Mich.-based BIGGBY® COFFEE opened a single store in March of 1995 based on the founding principle that coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike would benefit from a less pretentious approach to the standard gourmet café paradigm. BIGGBY COFFEE introduced connoisseur-worthy drinks with pronounceable names like Teddy Bear and Caramel Marvel, and barista staff surprised guests with simple gestures like free kazoos and bouncy balls for no other reason than to brighten their day. The “Big ‘B’” on the orange background caught on, and today BIGGBY COFFEE has 156 cafes open or under contract across eight states including: Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Florida and Texas.  For more information, visit: biggby.com.
