BEANER'S COFFEE to Open Allendale Location

Allendale, Mich., August 15, 2007 – BEANER’S COFFEE ®, the leading Lansing, Mich.-based coffee retailer, announces it will open a new store location on Lake Michigan Drive in Allendale. The store marks the company’s 11th location in the Grand Rapids area including multiple locations within the city and in neighboring communities such as Wyoming, Kentwood and Grandville.
To celebrate the Allendale Grand Opening, BEANER’S will award the first ten customers in line on August 20thwith free coffee for a month! In addition, brewed coffee will be offered free to customers all week long.
The 1,800 square-foot location is at 4814 Lake Michigan Dr., Suite 500, on the southwest corner of Lake Michigan Dr. and 48th avenue—at the northwest corner of the Grand Valley State University campus. The store—open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday thru Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday—will feature free wireless internet access and plentiful seating for student and business group meetings. It’s the first BEANER’S location for owners Dave, Mary Lynn and Eric Jonker. The Jonker’s also have plans to open a second BEANER’S location in Grand Haven next year.
The new store will bring nearly 20 new full and part-time jobs to the area.
The Grand Rapids-area growth is in line with the Company’s plan to expand its retail presence in the Midwest and South by 60% before 2010; from 76 to 112 stores.
“Allendale is an ideal location to open our newest store due to the growing, vibrant college community at GVSU,” said Dave Jonker, co-owner of the store. “We look forward to bringing the Beaner’s experience to the students and faculty at the college as well as our neighboring businesses. BEANER’S COFFEE continues its rapid ascent in the gourmet coffee retail sector with a 53 percent increase in system wide sales in 2006— nearly half of that realized as new store growth.
