Biggby Coffee franchise to open in Rockford, offer free coffee all week

ROCKFORD -- East Lansing-based Biggby Coffee will open its first location in Rockford, at 2745 10 Mile Road, on Tuesday. The store will celebrate with free brewed coffee for the entire week from Tuesday through Nov. 23.
It's the first franchise operation for Bob Sorum and Rich Barnes, longtime business partners and loyal Biggby customers.
"We're coming from the travel industry, which is a field we got into because of our passion for travel," said Sorum. "So, when it came time for us to try something new, we both saw our passion for gourmet coffee as the natural next step."
Located in the new Rockford Ridge Shopping Center at 10 Mile and U.S. 131, store hours are 6 a.m. -9 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
The cafe features indoor/outdoor seating, free wi-fi connections, a big screen TV, fireplace and a convenient drive-thru window. The full menu of gourmet coffee, tea and frozen drinks can be found online atwww.biggbycoffee.com.
