DOUBLE SHOT OF BIGGBY COFFEE COMING TO METRO DETROIT
Two New Openings Make 19 Total Metro Detroit Locations for Growing Coffee Retailer

Lansing, Mich., March 29, 2008 – Lansing Mich.-based coffee retailer, BIGGBY COFFEE, will open two new Metro Detroit locations—one in Farmington Hills, the other in Northville Township—on April 1.  The new stores mark the 18th and 19th metro Detroit locations for the rapidly expanding coffee franchise.  Both stores will offer free brewed coffee all week long in celebration of the event.

The Northville Township store is located at 20570 Haggerty Road near the 8 Mile Road intersection, in the Trader Joe’s Shopping Center.  The café is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.   The same hours apply for BIGGBY COFFEE of Farmington Hills, located at 32443 Northwestern Highway between Middlebelt and 14 Mile Road.

BIGGBY COFFEE® has grown significantly since it first opened in East Lansing 13 years ago.  The alluring combination of signature coffee drinks, free wireless internet access, warming fireplaces and plentiful soft seating—all standard BIGGBY COFFEE® options—have created a growing loyal customer base.  The retailer currently has 89 stores up and running and an additional 74 under development across nine states.

The Northville location is the first BIGGBY franchise for husband and wife team Bruce and Kim Mason. Likewise, the Farmington Hills store is the first of several planned locations for husband and wife team Jose and Irma Cayao.

“We have experience in the franchise model, but we were looking for something really different,” said Jose Cayao.  “We started seeing more and more of the BIGGBY brand and we investigated the possibility of opening a store.  Needless to say, we like what we found and we’re excited to bring real gourmet coffee to the area.”

The Metro Detroit-area growth is in line with the Company’s plan to expand its retail presence in the Midwest and South by 60% before 2010; from 76 to 112 stores.

The two stores combined will bring nearly 40 new full and part-time jobs to the area.

If you look at our most successful franchise owners, they’ll all tell you the same thing: their favorite part of the business is the people. It’s the...
